Important Update Regarding ISSA Continuing Education (Effective January 1, 2026)
At Duke Institute of Fitness and Sports (DIFS), we believe in transparency and clear communication with our students and professional community.
ISSA (International Sports Sciences Association) has announced changes to how Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) from external education providers will be handled beginning January 1, 2026. As part of this update, ISSA will no longer maintain an “approved” or “preferred” external provider program.
From this date forward, continuing education completed outside of ISSA will be reviewed through ISSA’s standard individual CEU submission process.
What this means for DIFS students
- DIFS courses remain suitable for professional development and may be submitted to ISSA for CEU consideration as part of recertification.
- Upon course completion, students will receive a Certificate of Completion issued by Duke Institute of Fitness and Sports.
- In line with ISSA’s updated structure for external education, certificates issued by DIFS will follow an independent institutional format and will not display ISSA branding or pre-assigned CEU values.
- CEU approval decisions are made directly by ISSA during the individual review process.
All references on this website, including testimonials and past announcements, accurately reflect DIFS’s status during the period in which they were published. This update applies to enrollments and certifications issued from January 1, 2026 onward.
We remain committed to delivering high-quality education and supporting our students through every stage of their professional development.
